Mr. Ronnie Dallas Messer

Mr. Ronnie Dallas Messer, age 70, of Newport, passed away Sunday morning, February 26, 2023 at Newport Medical Center. He attended Allen’s Missionary Baptist Church. He loved Martial Arts and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Rachel Messer; sister Hester Turner; brother Frank Messer; nephews Joe Messer, Larry Hembree and Jerry Turner. Also, a very special furry friend Bear. Survivors include his wife Vanessa Messer of the home; brothers, Carson (Ruby) Messer and Doug Messer all of Newport; sisters Lola Hembree of Newport and Christine Ball of GA.; sisters-in-law Louneil (Billy) Williams, Karen Kelley, Lenora Barnes (Jan Palmer) and Debby Barnes all of Newport; brothers-in-law David O’Dell of Knoxville and Robert (Tracy) Barnes of Newport. Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friends William and Naomi Mason of Morristown and Tim “Termite” Wise of Newport and his two beloved fur babies Bo and Socks. The funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, March 1, 2023 in the Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leon Large and Rev. Jackie Swanger officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home prior to the service.
