Mrs. Nell B. Blazer

Mrs. Nell Barger Blazer, age 94, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on October 25, 2022. Nell was born on August 24, 1928, in Newport, Tennessee to Hunley and Bessie Barger. Nell was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 58 years, Robert Blazer. She is survived by her son, Robert Blazer, Jr. (Suzanne), daughter, Gail Van Hoozier (Carl), granddaughters Kendall Tope (Hunter) and Erin Montgomery (Graham), sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Nathan Ford, niece Beth Ford (Mike Driskill), nephews John Ford (Lisa) and Mark Ford (Jane Rodrigue) and many great nieces and nephews. Nell’s passion was her family. She treasured her time with her children, grandchildren and extended family. She enjoyed her Sunday mornings at church with her husband and later with her son, Rob. Nell looked forward to birthdays and holidays where she could cook for a full house of loved ones. As a teacher, PTA mom, neighbor and church volunteer, Nell loved serving others. A special thank you to home Health Instead caregivers – Patti, Rebecca, Carol – who were loved by Nell for going above and beyond in their loving care of her. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 6900 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.Read Obituary
