Obituary Mr. Michael Atkins, age 56, of Newport, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Newport Medical Center.He was preceded in death by his mother, Judean Atkins, grandparents, Sam and Dixie White and his uncle Kimmie White.He is survived by his father, Kenneth (Mary) Atkins of Point Pleasant, aunt, Sheila (Ronald) Henry of Newport, cousins, Chad Henry, Jeremiah White, Kaylum White all of Newport.  Additional survivors include several other family and friends including special friends and caregivers, Sheila Burnett and Mike Burnett, David and Regina Clevenger and their daughters, Katie, Abby, and Kinleigh, Jamie Yarbrough, and his special friend/house brother, Wendall Williams.To know Mikey was to love him, Mikey loved with his whole heart and never met a stranger.  If you asked Mikey how old he was his response was always 21.  He loved Michael Jackson, Karate Norris (Chuck Norris), eating a hamburger, french fry, and a Diet Coke, play wrestling with David, loving on Sheila, and aggravating Mike and David about taking their girls, Sheila and Regina.  Mikey loved the moon and wanted everyone to see how beautiful it was.  He loved stickers, tattoos (fake of course), and his Batman watch.  He loved 80's music and loved to sing every word and dance.  He would say his momma was in Heaven daily and now  he is with her in Heaven praising Jesus by her side.A graveside service will be held at 11:00a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Point Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Gary Elmore and Pastor John Walton officiating.  Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 10:45a.m. Tuesday at the cemetery prior to service.Brown Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Michael Atkins To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Mr. Michael Wade Atkins, please visit our floral store. div.ptwp-tree { min-width:400px; float: right; } A Memorial Tree was planted for Mr. Michael We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Brown Funeral Home Join in honoring their life - plant a memorial tree
