Mrs. Linda Rae (Murr) Watts

Obituary Mrs. Linda Murr Watts, age 72, of Newport, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, August 19, 2022.She was a lifelong member of Riverview Baptist Church and served as the treasurer of the East Tennessee Baptist Association for many years.  She loved to travel and visited numerous countries around the world.She was preceded in death by her husband and traveling partner Jerry Watts, with whom she is now traveling again. Parents Estel and Gladys Murr and brothers Butch and Gary.Survivors include her children Rick, Chad and Jaime; grandchildren, Marissa, Shelley, Jacee and Spencer; brother Roger and sister-in-law Vonda; niece Heather; nephew Jordy and great nephew Cole. Additional survivors include other extended family and friends.A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Riverview Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Grooms officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Union Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment.In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to Alzheimer’s Tennessee located at 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.Brown Funeral Home is honored to serve the Watts family.
