Mr Frank B. Swafford

Mr. Frank B. Swafford, age 65, of Newport, passed away Saturday morning, January 21, 2023 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was a volunteer firefighter in Marcus Hook, PA in his teens. He served in the United States Navy from 1976 until 1984 as a HT and a firefighter. While stationed in San Diego, he met the love of his life Kim in 1981. They married in 1986. The couple had no children. Frank worked for several distributors in the S.D. area until retiring in 2016. Frank and Kim moved to Tennessee in 2021 to be closer to family and enjoy the beauty of East TN. He loved sports, especially Chargers football and Padres baseball. Frank was a kind, generous, compassionate man with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved the Lord and he loved others more than material things. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Imogene Swafford; sisters Gail Stafford and Betty Jean Wothers and brother James J. Swafford. Survivors include his wife Kimberly Swafford; brothers, Ronald J. (Sherry) Swafford and William E. (Patricia) Swafford and sister-in-law Theresa Swafford. Additional survivors include cousins Joyce Lort and Lisa Matsinger and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who all loved their “favorite Uncle”. A Celebration of Life Service for close friends and family is being planned for a later date at Frank and Kim’s home in Newport.
