Mrs. Betty Jo Renner Gregg, age 80, of Parrottsville, went home to be with her Lord Saturday afternoon, October 29, 2022 at Tennova Convalescent Center surrounded by family and friends. She was a member of Browns Chapel Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Andy Gregg; parents Frank and Lula Renner; brothers Wayne (Joyce) Renner and Kenneth (Marie) Renner; sisters Beulah (Luther) Harris and Valerie (Troy) Lewis. Betty Jo is survived by her children Walter (Charlene) Gregg of Greeneville, Rita (Rickey) Peters of Parrottsville, Phyllis (Freddy) Hale of Parrottsville and Betty Jane Gregg of Newport; grandkids Bobbie Jo (John) Helm of Newport, Amy Pridemore of Parrottsville, Ashley Jennings of Newport, Crystal (James) Laws of Greeneville, Jon (Heather) Gregg of Greeneville and Freddy Wayne (Ashley) Hale of Edwina; great-grandkids James Peters, Allen Cureton, Ethan Coakley, Eli Coakley, Hunter Wyatt, Makayla Wyatt, Shawn Owenby, Gabe Gregg, Waylon Gregg, Emma Harris, Deacon Hale, Avery Hale, Tommy Cureton and Sean Cureton and one great-great-granddaughter Kinley Hance. Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, November 3, 2022 at Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Frisbee and Rev. Joe Green officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Friday at Faubion Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment. James Peters, Allen Cureton, Freddy Wayne Hale, Jonathan Gregg Ethan Coakley and Eli Coakley will serve as pallbearers; John Paul Sane, Ricky Peters, Charles Black, Freddy Hale and Hunter Wyatt will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Costner-Maloy & Brown prior to the service. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home.
